Tone the Bone Bio,
“ if its good its good, regardless of genre don’t be a music snob”
My parents always had music on in the house and my dad was a DJ in the late 70’s & early 80’s – which is where I get my love of music from.
My first individual music taste was the Grunge scene with Nirvana’s Nevermind album, (the actual cassette I had is tattooed on my arm).
I started DJ’ing in 1998 under the guidance of good friend Tony Hammond doing the usual weddings / birthdays etc. ABBA & The Nolan Sisters paid my mortgage !!
Nightclubs and trendy bars followed before the opening of the CREW gave me a platform to play my own taste in music, starting with a MOD / INDIE night, I was riding a VESPA at the time, and covering the ROCK nights when required.
Starting up on my own, I then followed this by playing MOTOWN / SKA / NORTHERN SOUL etc.
Live music was a hobby going to see some big bands and plenty of unknowns of all genres, from The Red Hot Chilli Peppers to The Roots, Flaming Lips to Fu Manchu.
Now on the CREW ROCK RADIO I have the platform to play the music I listen to the most in FUZZY GUITARS, ROCK N BLUES and delving back into my youth with the GRUNGE.
