Cryptosis – Celestial Death

Cryptosis’s sophomore album, Celestial Death, released on March 7, 2025, via Century Media Records, marks a significant evolution in the Dutch futuristic metallers’ sound. Building upon the foundations of their debut album, Bionic Swarm (2021), and the EP The Silent Call (2023), the band delves deeper into darker, heavier, and more melodic territories, crafting an album that is both vast and cinematic.

The album comprises 11 tracks, totaling 42 minutes of immersive music. It opens with “Prologue – Awakening,” a brief yet atmospheric introduction that seamlessly transitions into “Faceless Matter.” This track explores a dystopian future where individuality fades into a collective consciousness, setting the thematic tone for the album. Other standout tracks include “Static Horizon,” “Reign Of Infinite,” and “Cryptosphere,” each showcasing the band’s ability to blend relentless heaviness with haunting melodies.

The production quality of Celestial Death is noteworthy. Recorded between April and August 2024 by Olaf Skoreng at Tom Meier and Studio Moon Music, the album was mixed by Fredrik Folkare at Chrome Studios in Sweden and mastered by Tony Lindgren at Fascination Studios. The collaboration with renowned artist Eliran Kantor for the album artwork further enhances its visual appeal.

In support of the album, Cryptosis has announced a European tour with British thrashers Onslaught, celebrating the 40th anniversary of their classic Power From Hell album. The tour kicks off on May 29, 2025, in Oldenburg, Germany, and includes an album release show on March 29, 2025, in Enschede, The Netherlands.

Celestial Death stands as a testament to Cryptosis’s growth and willingness to push the boundaries of their sound, offering listeners a profound and immersive experience.
