I fell in love with Prog at around the age of 6 when Fire by Crazy World of Arthur Brown came on the radio. I Didn’t know it then but it influenced my music taste for years to come.
Like all good rock fans I used to listen to Tommy Vance between 10PM and Midnight on Friday nights, it became compulsive listening, I loved all the what would now labelled Classic Rock such as Saxon, Whitesnake and Iron Maiden. But its when bands such as Hawkwind, Ted Nugent, Frank Zappa and Argent came across the airwaves I got a real buzz. Even the theme to the show by Van Der Graff Generator gave me goose-bumps, which was written by Peter Hammill who went onto write and produce one of my favourite albums.
