Wednesday 13 – Mid Death Crisis

So the Duke of Spook, Wednesday 13, is set to release his brand-new album ‘Mid Death Crisis’ on the 25th of April 2025.

Wednesday opens the album with the opening track ‘There’s no such thing as monsters’, for a short song, the band manages to perfectly set an eerie, but electronic, tone for the album.

Jumping straight into the next song, Wednesday 13 brings fans what they love with a great mixture of heavy guitar riffs and horror lyrics. What’s not to love?

The next on the album is the already released track ‘When the devil commands’. This song alone is perfect not only to showcase Wednesday 13’s lyricism but to also entice people to check out the new album.

My personal track of the album is ‘Decapitation’. This song truly demonstrates the band’s instrumental ability, whilst giving us a sense of nostalgia – reminiscent of the days of ‘murderdolls’ (my personal favourite band of all time).

The track ‘Blood Storm’ emphasises the band’s musical ability, giving us a wide range of guitar riffs – from slow and heavy, to fast and catchy melodies.

The closing track of this album, titled ‘Sick and Violent’, is the ideal track to end this masterpiece of an album. Wednesday and the band manage to perfectly sum up the vibe of the album, including all the great musical techniques used throughout the LP.

From instrumental ability, lyricism and vocals, this is not an album to miss.
